I lust; therefore, I must indulge (Femme Fatale)

Before i start raving about our latest additions, i would like to thank everyone who got in touch with us, tweeted about us or, spread the word about Bullets & Butterflies. You guys are the best!

Sunday Since today is when many of you go back to work after the Eid holiday, i'll try to keep this short and sweet so you can have your fix of fashion jizz and go back to doing whatever mundane task you had assigned for you.

I recently tweeted about our latest brands arriving in store, right? Well, these brands have very different takes on what's a-la-mode this season yet both are super rad.

When Walter Hunt invented the safety pin in 1849, his motive was to pay off his debt of $15. Now, I wish he was still alive to see what a stir the safety pins are causing as a trend. Do you love them, hate them? hmmm... As you can see, we've embraced them. Their comeback has been very popular with brands and celebs. BUT.... we chose to take a different approach and have Ann Sofie Back's collection of exaggerated single safety pins on pieces rather than have pieces with them scattered all over. Oh, by the way, it was Elizabeth Hurley's safety pin dress that made her a household name and was voted the greatest dress of all time aaaaannd fastened Hugh Grant to her, well, for a while at least.

To the haters of the pin....i see you stand corrected, now. Huh?

Ida Sjöstedt

Lace Jumpsuit. Wicked!
Snowflake Dress. Oooooh, J'adore!

This Swedish designer's elegant and playful pieces are the most feminine of what we have so far at Bullets & Butterflies. They are also the most "holiday-spirited" with emerald lace mini skirts and red checkered silk shirt-dresses. Sjostedt's collection combines luxury fabrics with great tailoring. What more could we ask for? I would best describe it as 'dark fairytale circa 70's'. With these pieces i'd go faux pas all the way and copy the model's glossy lip color for an ultimate winter look.

This cyber 'lady-date' comes to an end here. Enough frolicking and, get back to work.

Featured Designers: Accessories That Made the Cut

Why, hello there gorgeous....

What have you done so far in an attempt to prepare yourself for the season of festivities? Not much, i'm assuming. Why don't you do it a little differently this time and take a more interesting approach? Here's a little how-to...

I wish we had a fashion squad to discipline all the fashion sinners on occasions.

ehm....anyway...

This is for men too!

Pick an accessory of your choice. It could be a bag, ring, scarf or, a headpiece. Now, figure out how big you want to go with this. You don't need to break your piggy bank for it just think of how big of an inspirational impact you want it to have on you. For example: do you want to pick out an element and allow it to influence the rest of your outfit or go the whole nine yards and choose the rest of your outfit based on all the elements of that piece??? I've tried this myself a number of times and trust me when i tell you that the outcomes are much more interesting.

On the same spectrum, i would like to introduce some of our accessory designers that have made it big.

Philippe Roucou
This french designer's infamous silk Polaroid scarf collection has been very popular amongst fashion bloggers as well as editors. The 'Objets Trouves' range is a collaboration between the designer and young artist, M. Cherie and are series of abandoned images.

We're happy to tell you that we have one set of the limited edition scarves (400 only worldwide) in-store.

Using her surroundings as her inspiration for work, many of her items are  made with gemstones, metals, porcelain, dyes and, glaze. Each piece with porcelain fused metal is unique and cannot be recreated.

Nugget earings

Feast ring
Emerald Band for Men

The famous Asteroid ring

One Word: INSANE!

Armor

My last accessory designer for today's presentation is somewhat different and requires a little more creativity than usual. Sandee Shin, the new-york based designer holds a background in performance art and design which influence her design choices. Her pieces are "a unique sculpture for the body that reflects the lifestyle of those who aren't afraid to push boundaries".

A sublime collection, indeed.

I do hope you've enjoyed your little peek into the evolution of accessories, ladies and gentlemen. These much-covetable items are all limited pieces.

Arrivederci in cielo.
